A gun shot has been fired following a two car collision at an intersection in Doncaster

According to 7NEWS, at around 11am today two cars collided near the intersection of Williamson Road and Manningham Road in Doncaster.

After the crash, the 32-year-old driver of the black ute, got out of the car and allegedly fired a gun.

Motorists who witnessed the incident rushed in and managed to overpower the man, holding him until Police arrived at the scene.

The man sustained minor injuries, however no one else was injured.

The incident happened outside a school, meaning the school was then forced into lockdown.

The 32-year-old man was arrested and is now in police custody and the other driver of the white Volkswagen, involved in the crash, stayed at the scene and was interviewed by Police.
