Manningham Life is an independent local news publication serving the City of Manningham in Melbourne's eastern suburbs.
Founded in 2021 following the closure of the Manningham Leader, Manningham Life was created to ensure our community continued to have access to trusted local news, community information and public interest journalism.
We cover the people, organisations and issues that shape life in Manningham — from local government, community news and events to health, education, the environment, infrastructure and local business. We also tell the stories of local residents and the cultures, experiences and contributions that make our community unique.
From 2021 to 2025, Manningham Life was delivered free to 20,000 households across Manningham, with more than 420,000 copies distributed. Today, we publish online, continuing our commitment to accessible and independent local journalism.
A note from the editor
When we started Manningham Life in 2021, our aim was simple: to inform and connect our community.
That remains our purpose today — to tell the stories of our community, ask questions about the issues that affect us and provide useful, trustworthy local information.
Manningham Life is very much a community publication. I hope it can be a place where residents see their lives and experiences reflected, discover more about the people around them and have an opportunity to be heard.
Our Community
Manningham is one of Melbourne's most culturally diverse municipalities, with more than 54,000 residents born overseas and 46 per cent speaking a language other than English at home.
We aim to reflect that diversity through the voices and stories we publish, including our Local Resident stories and Chinese-language content.
Your Voice
We believe local journalism should listen as well as report.
Through Your Voice, we conduct community surveys on local issues and publish the results and analysis, giving residents an opportunity to share their experiences and perspectives.

Manningham Life is a member of the Local & Independent News Association (LINA), Australia's peak body for independent local news publishers, and is committed to high standards of journalism and editorial independence.
