The past couple of months have been busy and exciting for us at Manningham Life. With the launch of our new website in April, we are now providing even more news and stories for our readers. We are thrilled to have several journalism students from RMIT and Melbourne University join us as volunteers and interns. Thanks to Phoebe Miller, Mia Cutugno, Piper Wright, Mia Branda-Pawlaczyk, and Jasmine Kinghorn, we’ve expanded our coverage to include crime news, and will be starting a sports section and an email newsletter. Additionally, Eva Zhang, Sherry Cheng, and Elaine Miao from have translated articles into Chinese for our Chinese-speaking community, and these are available on our website.
In June, as a member of the Local & Independent News Association (LINA), Manningham Life participated in a nationwide fundraising campaign. LINA created a matching fund pool by collaborating with philanthropists and organisations, amplifying our local fundraising efforts. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the businesses and residents who generously donated to our campaign. A special shout-out to Bendigo Bank of Doncaster East & Templestowe Village for their generous $3,000 donation. These funds will help us enhance our services to the Manningham community.
