According to Manningham Eyewatch, on December 24, Doncaster Police pulled over a vehicle with four occupants on Doncaster Road, Doncaster.
The incident occurred at around 6:20pm.
The learner driver was breathalysed and recorded a blood alcohol reading of .133 per cent.
The 39-year-old learner from Glen Huntly had his car immediately impounded for 28 days at a cost of $966.50.
The man is expected to be charged with drink driving offences and failing to display 'L' plates.
His drivers license was instantly suspended for 12 months.
