Doncaster Police are urging all residents to be cautious, following reports of a scam where people are impersonating authorities.
Some members of the public have received phone calls by a number that appears on their phones as the same exact number for Doncaster Police Station.
Residents are being warned that if you receive a call, it is important to follow these steps before entrusting the caller with personal information:
- Request a reference number and call back the station via a publicly listed number
- Do not respond to any requests and hang up
