Two people have died after a fatal house fire in Donvale

According to ABC News, two people have died in a house fire in Melbourne's east.

Emergency services, consisting of around 30 firefighters were called to the two- storey home at about 4am today.

According to Fire Rescue Victoria, the house was fully aflame and the roof of the home had collapsed.

Detectives and Arson Squad investigators are attending the scene and are working to identify how the fatal incident occurred early this morning.

In a Twitter / X post by neighbour, Angelo von Möller, he said "Our neighbour was someone we could rely on and we could help each other".

"When you think of a neighbour, our neighbour was the epitome of it." Möller said.

Police are asking any witnesses or those with further information about the blaze to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
