Our university interns and volunteers continue to enrich our content with engaging stories, both online and in print. Special thanks to Mia Cutugno for her diligent reporting on local crime and traffic incidents and to Piper Wright for her key role in launching our newsletter. If you’d like to stay informed about Manningham’s happenings, be sure to subscribe to our fortnightly newsletter. Our website hosts more stories than we can fit into our bimonthly magazine.

In this issue, Jasmine Kinghorn interviews Victoria’s top school crossing supervisor, Ian Hook (page 9), and Siyang Xiao covers the opening of Hepburn Reserve (page 12). We’re also proud to feature secondary student Angelina Travaglini, who writes about her school’s Interact Club’s fundraising efforts for Ronald McDonald House (page 12).

Don’t miss Susan Hudak’s story, who has been with Myer Doncaster since its opening in 1969 (page 9). Also, look forward to the Electric Vehicle Expo and Seminar on Sunday, 27 October, at the Manningham Civic Centre, which is expected to surpass last year’s turnout.

As the October council election nears, check out our special 4-page pull-out reviewing key issues from the past council term. A big thank you to Phoebe Miller for her meticulous work, especially in reviewing numerous council documents.

Lastly, our next Morning Tea is on Saturday, 16 November. To reserve your free spot, call 0490 116 552 or book through Humanitix by scanning the QR code on page 13.

We hope you enjoy this issue!
